The best landscapes
If you are thinking about renting a boat to enjoy the sea in Alicante, from Marina Estrella Charter we describe for you the best landscapes in Costa Blanca.
From north to south we detail different locations that have no reason to envy the fabulous coves of Formentera or the sunsets in Ibiza.
Cova Tallada – Denia
Located in the south of the city of Denia within the Natural Reserve of Cabo San Antonio at sea level, this magnificent place is very close to the area of Les Rotes. It is accessible either on foot or by boat or any other aquatic means (kayak, SUP paddle, etc.) so we recommend visiting it at first light or out of high season to enjoy it in its fullness.
It is not a totally natural cave, since it was used in the 12th century as a Tosca stone quarry for different constructions, such as the church of San Bartolomé de Xàbia. Although it is a cave modified by man, we cannot deny its spectacular nature and its perfect exterior for snorkeling.
Cabo de San Antonio – Jávea
It is located between Denia and Xàbia. It forms part of the Natural Park of the Montgó Massif and underneath it´s the Marine Reserve of Cabo de San Antonio.
The cape is spectacular thanks to its 160 meters of cliffs and its great biodiversity. It is perfect for snorkeling or scuba diving (a special permit is required in certain areas) or to enjoy whale watching as different cetacean together with turtles, dolphins and birds such as the peregrine falcon, the shag and the eagle frequent the reserve
Bahia del Portixol – Jávea
Portixol bay is one of the favorites for sailors in the Costa Blanca. It is an area of immense beauty for its beaches, coves and natural formations as well as for its ecological and landscape interest. It covers from Cap Prim to Cap Negre, which protects from the winds the main cove of the Bay, Cala Sardinera.
Cala Barraca is located opposite the island of Portixol, and there are small old fishermen’s houses, which makes is stand out. Also in this cove there is a restaurant, perfect to eat and drink and enjoy the area of the Bay of Portixol as it deserves.
The virgin and rocky cala Sardinera is adjacent to Cala Barraca
.Definitely, this bay is perfect to explore, take the opportunity to snorkel, practice photography and enjoy the sunset.
Cala Moraig y Cala Les Tiestos – Benitaxel
Sailing from the Bay of Portixol to the south and passing by Cab de la Nau, the Granadella beach or Isla del Descubridor, locations no less important, we find one of the best coves in the Alicante: Cala Moraig and its neighbor Cala les Tiestos.
It´s located under Puig Llorença mountain range and between cliffs and impressive geological formations, is this secluded cove of gravel and transparent waters. The exceptional enclave and the color of its waters recreate a paradisiacal landscape and give it a unique charm. Besides its attractiveness for the bath, next to it we can find impressive geological formations such as the Falla del Moraig and the Cova dels Arcs, a beautiful aquatic cave that is the way out to the sea of an underground river. It´s a treasure for lovers of scuba diving.
La Cala Les Tiestos is a small beach only accessible through the route of the bed of the Barranc de L’Infern of medium difficulty (it can be descended through some ropes as a rappel) and accessible by sea which makes it a lonely cove , perfect crystal clear water for disconnection.
Puerto de Moraira
The port of Moraira is one of the best located on the Costa Blanca, as it is sheltered by Cabo la Nao, Cabo Moraira and Peñón de Ifach. In addition, it is very close to the old town and has an endless number of restaurants and shopping areas. It is quite probable in summer season that they do not have available moorings, but thanks to its shelter situation we can anchor in a small inlet known as the Rinconet.
Catamarans for charter in Alicante
Altea
The town of Altea is one of the best considered of the Costa Blanca. Altea is magical and bohemian and gathers all the points to be the best destination. Altea is its white old town on high with its cobblestone streets. Altea is the iconic blue domes of the parish highlighting over the white color of its streets. Altea is an old fishing village; it is a haven of tranquility with its countless coves and beaches. Altea is Mediterranean gastronomy; it is summer fun (we recommend on July 16 when they celebrate the day of the patron saint of sailors).
Cala Tio Ximo y Cala Almadraba – Benidorm
They are at the foot of the Serra Gelada, and are two small coves of fine sand and boulders north of the bustling Benidorm perfect for snorkeling in its crystal clear waters and rocky bottoms overlooking the vegetation of the Serra Gelada.
Cabo de las Huertas – Alicante
It is located between the endless beach of San Juan and the Bay of Alicante. This cape is very appreciated because it offers nature lovers and virgin coastal areas lovers a space very close to the busy Alicante. In the cape there are four coves (La Calita, Cala La Palmera, Cala Cantalar and Cala de los Judíos) and it is a perfect place to practice any water sport.
Puerto deportivo de Alicante
Marina Estrella has an office in this port that is one of the most important in the area for its fabulous and strategic location well connected to the rest of Spain by road, with Balearics by sea and with a major international airport at less than 30 minutes by car.
In this port we have a great variety of rental boats that are a great choice to visit some or some of these enclaves that we propose according to your time availability.
It is the best option as a base port for all that we have previously commented and because it has a large number of restaurants serving Mediterranean and international food, nearby grocery stores, and is also next to the center of the city of Alicante.

Isla Tabarca
Tabarca Island is the only inhabited island in the zone. It is located eleven nautical miles from Alicante and three miles from Cape Santa Pola. Apart from Tabarca Island there are other small islets: La Cantera, La Galera and La Nao.
Its coasts sheltered in the past a refuge of Berber pirates. In the eighteenth century, Charles III ordered to fortify it and build in it a village to accommodate several families of fishermen from Genoa who were held captive in the Tunisian city of Tabarka. The walls that surround its urban nucleus have been declared Historical Artistic Set and Well of Cultural Interest.
This group of islands is perfect for anchoring, snorkeling or scuba diving since there is a great biodiversity in its waters as well as small caves that you will have to discover.
We recommend visiting the small fishing village, the three gates of the ancient wall, the old port, the old lighthouse (renovated where now houses the biological laboratory that serves as the base for the Marine Reserve), the old house of the governor, the tower of San José and, of course, taste the typical Caldero Tabarquino
TORREVIEJA
The port of Torrevieja is one of the largest ports in the south of the Costa Blanca. Marina Estrella has a large number of boats for rent in this port due to its proximity to Roig Cape and the area of the Mar Menor in Murcia to the south and the proximity of the immense beaches of Guardamar del Segura and the proximity to the Tabarca Island just 12 miles away.
For you to enjoy these wonders of the Costa Blanca, Marina Estrella Charter puts at your disposal the best boats for charter in Alicante. Sailboats, catamarans, crewed motor yachts and boats for day trips … you just have to worry about telling us what kind of boat you need, and we will offer you the best option for you.
